Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Iowa Hawkeyes Preview
Ohio State is rolling into Iowa City with a convincing win against Penn State where they put on a textbook football exhibition in the second half of play. Iowa comes home after a disappointing close loss to Northwestern on the road, 21-17.
The Hawkeyes can play Big 10 spoiler coming up against the Buckeyes. Losing would most likely mean an end to Ohio State's five-year run as the Big Ten champion and maybe even block a trip to a second-tier bowl game. Wining means they will be just a victory away against rival Michigan from a sixth straight shared or outright conference title, plus they'll still be in the mix for a Bowl Championship Series bowl bid. They don't expect it to be easy.
The Hawkeyes (7-3, 4-2 Big Ten) are on the outside looking in on the conference race, with Michigan State, Ohio State (9-1, 5-1) and Wisconsin all tied for first place. But, the Hawkeyes are looking to give it their all in this hotly contested match. Last year’s match up had great impact since the Buckeyes win in overtime on a Devin Barclay 39-yard field goal gave Ohio State a share of the conference title and a trip to the Rose Bowl.
Look for Ohio State to match last year’s effort winning 27-21.
